The Ryley (Riley) Family.
The family name is sometimes Riley on earlier documents but since it settled to become Ryley on later documents, I will use this spelling unless quoting directly.
Generation 2
Possible children of William Riley and Elizabeth Paston:
(These are all registered as children of a William Riley but their mother's name is not given, so some or all may belong to a different William.Other marriages for a William Riley in Wolverhampton were Martha Baker in 1708, Hannah Knowles in 1717, Hannah Williams in 1730.
The name Paston crops up as a forename in subsequent generations so is the most likely mother of Rupert (1737 - 1806), my direct ancestor.)
Generation 3.
Children of Rupert Ryley and Elizabeth Brett:
Generation 4.
Children of Benjamin Ryley and Elizabeth Day:
Generation 5.
Children of Elizabeth Ryley and Robert Nixon:
Further details of Dave's direct Ryley ancestors
Unless otherwise stated, we have transcribed directly from the original document or from a scanned or photographic image of the original document.

Rupert Ryley of Wolverhampton
In Brief:

Birth
Possibly 9th September 1737. His father was William Ryley. This is the only baptism I can find in the Wolverhampton area that would seem at all likely, but there is no other proof.
It would mean that Rupert was 38 when he married.
Rupert's Marriage:
St Peter, Wolverhampton
Witnesses were Benjamin Brett and Joseph Meready (Mcready?).
Elizabeth's siblings were Benjamin (d.1799), Samuel, George and Sarah (1755).

The family was living in Harrington Street.

Benjamin's wife, Elizabeth, kept her family together after Benjamin's death:

I am not sure the Foulks family are related.
Elizabeth possibly died in the first quarter of 1843. (To be researched further.)
