Deaths
There is a registered death for a Mary Cherrington in Dudley in the 1st quarter of 1867 but her age is given as 66, which would be 10 years too young. However, the burial record for Mary Cherrington on 7th March 1867 at Tipton St Martin gives her age as 76, so I am convinced that this was Robert's wife Mary, née Perry.
There is a registered death a year later for a Robert Cherrington in the Dudley district in the 3rd quarter of 1868, aged 74.
He was buried at Tipton St Martin on 10th August 1868. His address was given as Ocker Hill, Tipton.

William,, of full age, was a Puddler. His father was Robert Cherrington, also a Puddler.
Elizabeth's father was Edward Miginess, (dead), a glass blower.
The witnesses were William Burton and Drucilla Warrington.
William's First Children:
Edward remained unmarried and lived with his parents. In 1881 he was a general labourer, in 1891 a labourer in the iron foundry and in 1892 a ship's fireman. In 1892 and again in 1893, he was admitted to the Liverpool Workhouse Infirmary as a mental patient. Elizabeth after William's death.
On 19th May 1874, Elizabeth had two daughters with "latinised" names Maria and Joanna baptised at St Augustines Roman Catholic Church, in Cressington, nr Garston,
presumably in preparation for her marriage to John Eakins, an Irish friend and neighbour.
In Latin:
Anno 18__ die__ mensis__ nata et anno 1874 die 19 mensis Maii baptizat a est Maria Anna Cherrington filia Gulielmi et Elizabeth Cherrington (olim McGuiness) conjugum: a me Jacobo Hegarty CSSR.
Patrinus fuit__ Matrina fuit Joanna Lawton.
also,

Patrinus fuit__ Matrina fuit Helena Witten.
At some point, Elizabeth seems to have remarried to John Eakin (1844 - 1907). I still have not been able to find this marriage in the index, but these are the census references from which the notion arises, and which are fairly conclusive:
