Joseph died on 28th April 1928 (from gravestone at St Anne and Blessed Dominic, St Helens).].

[Born 15th July 1871 (from 1939 register). Married Thomas Travers (1868) on 16th January 1896 at St Nicholas, Sutton. Their children: Thomas Alfred (1897-1897), William George (1898), Walter Edward (1902), John Wilson (1906), Albert (1911-1971). Mary was buried on 3rd November 1954 at St Nicholas, Sutton. Address 275 Marshalls Cross Road.].
John Thomas Gerrard (1874 - 1957),
[Remained single. Joined the Life Guards in 1894 (service number 1926). In the 1911 and 1939 censuses he is found in Ladywood, Birmingham, boarding with Hannah Evans and family at 25 Barker Street. John Thomas died on 19th July 1957 at 25 Barker Street, Ladywood.
Jane Gerrard (1875 to 1950), [wife of Zachariah Whiteside (1876 to 1952).].
Alice Gerrard (1878 - ),
[Baptised on 17th February 1878 at St Nicholas, Sutton. Married to George Taylor in 1903, at St Nicholas, Sutton. The couple remained childless - at least until 1911.]

Possible baptism (From the parish register, 1814, St Helens.)

October 30th. Henry son of Henry and Elizabeth Harrison of Hardshaigh, colier (sic). (Hardshaigh was an alternative spelling for Hardshaw, the south-eastern corner of Windle, which grew to become St Helens.)
I believe it likely that Henry's parents were Henry Harrison and Elizabeth Highton who were married on 15th April 1811 St Mary the Virgin, Prescot.

Henry's Marriage (From the parish register.)

Henry Harrison was married to Mary Knowles on September 25th 1836 at St Mary the Virgin, Prescot, Lancashire.
Henry is described as a collier, batchelor of Windle.
Mary is described as a spinster, of Windle.
The witnesses at the wedding were John Parr and Ann Parr.

Mary Knowles (1818) was the eldest daughter of Richard Knowles, a collier, and Alice Parr.
Richard and Alice had married in Prescot on 9th April 1815.
Mary's siblings were: Alice (1820), Margaret (1822), Sarah (1824 - 1901), Richard (1826) and Elizabeth (1828).

I finally found Henry and family in 1851, indexed as 'Hamson', although clear enough once given a second look:

[The only reference I can find to Slub Brook is Slubbrook Farm, which fits with the route of the census enumerator. This, and the other two farms in the area, were demolished in the early 20th century.]

Ann Harrison was married to John Thomas Gerrard on March 14th 1869 at the Parish Church, Farnworth, Lancashire.
Both were living in Bold at the time.
John is described as a labourer on the marriage certificate.
John's father was William 'Garrard', labourer, and Ann's father is described as Henry Harrison, labourer.
The witnesses at the wedding were: Elizabeth Garrard (Gerrard) and Thomas Bradbury.
